Zach has created the global vision for the Seraphic Group and its spectrum of enterprises. The extraordinary scope of his vision is backed by the unrivaled depth and breadth of his education, and experience in the academic and private professional experience.
Upon entering the rigorous environ of academic medicine, he quickly distinguished himself as a natural leader with a tendency toward disruptive innovation. As President of his medical school student body at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, he cofounded and was elected chairman of a faculty committee for radical curriculum reform that also laid out a model that would reorganize the financial structure of the Dean’s office to facilitate educational innovation by faculty and students.
Simultaneously, his clinical excellence and early achievements in research earned him the James Waring Award for excellence in the field of Internal Medicine. As he moved on to his residency program in Internal Medicine at the University of Virginia, he again rapidly rose through the ranks to be appointed a Chief Resident. During that stint he created an innovative recruitment approach that has continued to be used to bring top residency candidates from around the world to the University of Virginia program.
Over the last twelve years, Zach has furthered his medical and basic science knowledge — he is among the few physicians in the nation that is triple board certified; with subspecialties in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology and Metabolism, and Hospice and Palliative care.
